Welcome to another, slightly late, Photo Friday! We have spent the last week staying on Koh Samet (or Koh Samed) off the South Eastern coast of Thailand. The island which lies in the Gulf of Thailand is just under 7km in length from North to South.
Twenty-four years ago, my family and I packed up our house, and left the UK for a “brief” stint in Pattaya, Thailand, that turned into five years of my earliest memories.
Nineteen years after my family and I left, D and I have returned to check out the old haunts and see what’s changed in the two decades since.
It’s the weekend! Or at least it’s almost the weekend depending on which timezone you’re in. As you know the start of the weekend means PhotoFriday. This week’s post focuses on three things that we love:- Sun, Sea and Sand.
This week’s Photo Friday is going to be a little bit different from the norm. You have probably already seen our favourite photos from Chiang Mai (if not, go have a look!) and we are still there, having been working hard – so no new photos!
So, rather than leave you all in the lurch and not write a post for this week, we thought we would get in contact with some of our blogging friends to bring you some awesome photos from every continent – hence the title “Around The World”.
Welcome to another edition of Photo Friday! Our destination this week is the Thai capital, Krung Thep or as its more commonly known, Bangkok. The first stop of the Asian leg of our trip.
Two continents down and two more to go (at least on this particular trip). We have now said ‘goodbye’, ‘au revoir’ and ‘chau’ to the United States and Canada after nearly three months of travelling its major cities and landmarks.
One of the things that we love about the US is their tendency to name things as they are. Some examples that Brits will understand are sidewalk (pavement), flashlight (torch) and washcloth (flannel).
This trend is evident in naming places too – Mike’s Pizza is a Pizzeria, Kelly’s Drug Store sells cosmetics and fills prescriptions.
Last weekend we visited the aptly named Big Trees. Featuring a whole load of big trees.
We have been super busy enjoying the great state of California (and a bit of Nevada and Arizona)! But we have now had some space to sit down and write a little; thanks to our gorgeous, temporary new home on a farm.
