We spent a most amazing long weekend in the Lake District recently, celebrating two friends getting married in a gorgeous hotel on the edge of Lake Grasmere. You cannot go there and not get your camera out and start snapping, the location is so beautiful, you can’t help but get stunning photos of the lake district.
The Lakes are a mere six hour drive from where we live, which might not sound much to some of you who live overseas, but that’s the majority of the length of our country!!
After getting over the hangover, I wanted to show some of the pictures of the spectacular location we had the luck of being in for a few days.
The water in Lake Grasmere is so brilliantly clear you want to drink it.
The view up towards Easdale Tarn – with a waterfall cascading in the distance.
The view back along the valley towards Grasmere, which is hidden in the hills.
A close up of the waterfall. I love waterfalls so much! I wish it had been warm enough to paddle our feet in the water, but it was freezing cold. Probably best not to.
It’s so peaceful just to take a walk through the woods. There are barely any people about at this time of year.
We stayed in a beautiful B&B that isn’t listed on any of the main hotel booking websites. You could see the lake from our room – it was just so gorgeous.
